A Message from Our Superintendent

Jerry Arave

Principal
“I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and are as excited as I am about the upcoming 2016/17 school year. For those of you who do not know me, or who are new to Kingman, my name is Jerry Arave and I am happy to be the Principal of the best school in North-West Arizona. My wife is a nurse at KRMC and I have five children, three of which are at KUSD schools.

This will be my sixth year here at Hualapai. Before that, I was the principal at Kingman Middle School for seven years. The experience I had at KMS has been beneficial because it allows me a unique understanding of what students need to know and be able to do as they transition from elementary to middle school.

I would also like to introduce our new assistant principal, Alyssa Prince. Mrs. Prince has been a teacher and reading coach for KUSD since 2003, and has worked with students of all ages in grades K – 12. She will bring a wealth of knowledge and elementary experience to our school and we are excited to have her.

Research shows that students do better at school when education is a priority in the home and when families actively support their neighborhood schools. For these reasons, Hualapai encourages parents to get involved here at Hualapai. You can help by volunteering in your child’s classroom or by becoming a member of our Parent-Teacher organization (HPVA). Great progress and improvement can be made when there is positive communication between families and their neighborhood school. We hope that you will join us in making Hualapai one of the best schools in Arizona.

Please check out our calendar of events. We have a lot going on the next two weeks and want to keep you informed. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.”
