Principal’s Message [March 27th]

Principal’s Letter:

Jerry Arave – Principal

Alyssa Prince – Asst. Principal

Hello Hualapai Families,

This is Mr. Arave, your principal, with an important message.

On Monday March 30th we will launch our new instructional delivery system.  We will continue with this new system until the Governor announces that schools can reopen.  Until that time, your child can continue to receive educational instruction by participating in one of two ways.

First, If you are able, we would like Hualapai students to participate on-line using Google Classrooms.  You can access Google Classroom by going to our district website at  Then, click on “Digital Learning.”  That should take you to the Digital Learning Page.  There are some instructional videos on how to use Google Classroom that you can take a look at, or you can select Google Classroom K-8 and start your digital learning experience.  Students will need to use their passwords and know their student ID number.  Most students know these already, but if they have forgotten, please contact your child’s teacher or the school and we will get this information to you.

It has been my experience that technology is fickle and doesn’t always work the way we want it to.  Please remember to be patient and to keep trying.  If something doesn’t work, please contact your child’s teacher or the school.  Just have your child do his/her best.  That is all we ask.  If you need more time to get things done, that is okay.  We will understand.  We don’t want to add any more stress to your family, so we understand that everyone needs to be flexible, including us.

The second way you child can participate is by coming by the school and picking up a learning packet.  District teachers have developed learning packets for Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading.  You can pick up packets at Hualapai from 6:30 – 10:00 every Monday Morning.  Your child can then work on the packet for one week and then you can return the completed packet on Monday mornings and then pick up another packet.   So, remember, every Monday from 6:30 – 10:00 you can pick up and drop off learning packets here at Hualapai.  If you can’t come until later in the day, we will have tubs for each grade level outside.  You can drop off a completed packet in the appropriate tub and we will collect later that evening.  Tubs will be available outside until 7:00 p.m.

If you are unable to come to the school to pick up a packet, please make sure your child’s teacher knows this.  The district is planning on delivering packets through our school bus system.  You may have to go to your child’s bus stop to pick up the packet.  For delivery times, contact the student transportation at 928-753-5928, or call the school and we will find out for you.

I am sorry this message was so long.  If you missed any part of this message, we posted all this information on the Hualapai Elementary School Facebook page.  If you have any questions, contact us.  We will have someone answering phones from 7:00 till 4:00 Monday through Thursday.

Yours in Education,

Jerry E. Arave
