Principal's Message

Hello Hualapai Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year.  We have been very busy getting everything ready for a successful year. We are continuing to make changes as we adjust to the new normal after COVID. We have some new faces as well as many returning staff members. We hope that everyone can make them feel welcome. Our theme for this year is "We will find a way or make one!"

Our mission is to provide all students with the educational tools to become effective citizens and leaders. Creating effective leaders is our school mantra. It is what we believe about ourselves, our students, and our school. We must remember that each of us, individually, has the power to create positive change. We emphasize leadership through the guidance of  Seven Habits of Highly Effective People/Kids by Steven Covey.

Everything that we do at Hualapai should be related to helping our students improve. When contemplating issues that arise, we ask ourselves, "Is it good for students?" This year, we have earned the coveted "A" on the school report card. Our goal is to beat ourselves through continuous improvement. Some of our strategies include: improved, site based professional development; restructuring school days to include common prep times for teacher collaborations; and providing student supports for improved behaviors and attendance.

With your help, we will find a way (or make one)!

Yours in Education,

Jerry E. Arave
