Last Thursday at Hualapai Elementary School the kindergarten classes and their families enjoy Kinder Kite Day! The weather was absolutely perfect for some kite-flying fun! 🪁💨
Families came out in full force to join in the excitement with their little ones. What a wonderful way to celebrate and create memories together!

🌟A huge shoutout to Eric Najera from Hualapai Elementary School for being accepted into the SETTA program, and to Linda Panagopoulos at Kingman Middle School (KMS Bobcats) for her acceptance into the GETSET Tuition Assistance Program through the Arizona Department of Education.🌟
GETSET (General Education Teacher to Special Education Teacher) is an amazing program that offers tuition reimbursement for certified general educators ready to transition into special education. Meanwhile, SETTA (Special Education Teacher Tuition Assistance) supports paraprofessionals in gaining their special education teaching certification.
At KUSD, we’re all about “growing our own” educators, and we can’t wait to see the impact Eric and Linda will make in our schools! Way to go, Linda and Eric – we believe in you!
Yesterday morning at Hualapai Elementary School, they kicked off their Donuts with Dad (or that special someone!) event. 🍩 They had a fantastic turnout! The students love starting their day with delicious treats and quality time with those they love. The smiles on the students' faces said it all! 😊
🌟🌟We are so proud to spotlight and congratulate Mrs. Shelly Owen, a 2nd grade teacher at Hualapai Elementary School. She earned Kingman Rotary Club's Teacher of the Month for March!
Mrs. Owen stated, "I have been teaching for 33 years and my favorite thing about teaching is that every day feels new and different. Children have very kind hearts and a sense of humor. I really enjoy being with them, helping them learn and watching their successes!"
She added that she moved to Arizona 33 years ago with her husband and has 3 children along with 2 dogs and is a grandma to 3 granddogs, which she loves! ❤

🔎🪨🪨 Exploring Careers in Geology! 🪨🪨🔎
Students at Hualapai had an exciting opportunity to learn from independent geologist Michael Feinstein during Trades Career Exploration Day!
Mr. Feinstein brought in rock samples from across Mohave County, allowing students to examine them up close with a hand lens and take a sample home! They gained insight into what geologists do, why their work is important, and how their findings help manage resources.
A huge thank you to Mr. Feinstein for sharing your expertise and inspiring future geologists!
Back in October we participated in the Walk away from drugs event. Today Hualapai was recognized by the city of Kingman as having the highest number of students attend in the area. Our trophy will be on display in our lobby. Congratulations to our Mountaineers for committing to walking away from drugs. We are all so proud of you guys. Students at Hualapai Elementary School were surprised by their school when they were invited to a celebration for their excellent attendance record! 🎉🎉
Students who were absent 4 or less days since the first day of school (half the school year) were able to participate in a fun cookie decorating activity, extra recess and received a reindeer candy cane.
If they continue this path of attendance, which would be 8 or less days absent from school for the entire school year, they will get an even bigger celebration at the year's end!
Before the break, Mrs. Dunn's class at Hualapai Elementary School had been studying about the Revolutionary War. The students engaged in a creative and educational activity where they dressed up as notable people from that era, using their own crafted cutouts.
Each student prepared and delivered a speech to their peers and family, showcasing extensive research and understanding of their chosen person's life and contributions to the war.
We love seeing our students' creativity!
Congratulations are in order for three talented students from Kingman Unified School District who have achieved remarkable success in the Mohave County Tobacco Use Prevention Calendar Drawing Contest.
This year's theme, "Hang Tough, Don't Puff," inspired many creative entries, and we are proud to announce our school district's winners.

Scholastic book fair that was originally scheduled for this month had to be changed due to a scheduling conflict with Scholastic , we apologize for this inconvenience . It will now be from October 24th - November 2nd. We look forward to seeing you all there, more information to follow.

It was heartwarming to see families and their students, enjoying breakfast before the school day began. ❤ Thank you to all the families who participated in this special event - your presence truly made a difference!
Parent / Teacher conferences and early release day are Wednesday, August 28th and Thursday, August 29th.
Release will be at 11:35 both days, 3 hours earlier from our daily schedule. Buses will be dropping off approximately 3 hours earlier from their times.

All 800 students at Hualapai Elementary were treated to an amazing beginning of the year assembly yesterday morning from ‘Basketball Jones’. The message was about being positive, being kind and doing your best no matter what. Everyone really enjoyed the assembly and the message that was given
